About This Tool

The Color Palette Creator helps designers and developers build harmonious color palettes from a single base color. It uses established color theory rules to generate combinations that work well together.

100% Client-Side

All color calculations run entirely in your browser. No data is sent to any server. There is no backend, no database, and no tracking. Your palettes stay on your device unless you choose to download them.

Color Harmony

This tool implements five classic harmony rules based on hue relationships on the HSL color wheel: analogous, complementary, triadic, split-complementary, and tetradic. Each rule produces colors with mathematically balanced hue angles, then adjusts saturation and lightness for visual variety.

WCAG Contrast Checking

The built-in contrast checker implements the WCAG 2.1 relative luminance formula to compute contrast ratios between any two palette colors. It reports pass/fail status for AA and AAA compliance at both normal and large text sizes.

Share Images

The share image feature uses the HTML Canvas API to render a professional palette card. No external service is contacted — the image is generated entirely in your browser and downloaded directly to your device.
