About This Tool
This compressor uses the browser's built-in Canvas API to re-encode images at a lower quality level. You get smaller file sizes without installing any software or uploading anything to a server.
No Uploads — 100% Client-Side
Your images never leave your device. The entire compression pipeline runs in the browser using the Canvas API's toBlob() method. There is no backend, no database, and no logging.
How It Works
- Drag and drop or browse — Load any image from your device.
- Quality slider — Adjust the compression quality from 1% to 100%. Lower values produce smaller files.
- Format selection — Output as JPEG, PNG, or WebP. The tool auto-selects a format based on the original file.
- Optional resize — Set a maximum width to downscale large images while maintaining the aspect ratio.
Before / After Comparison
After compression, you see the original and compressed previews side by side along with file sizes, dimensions, and the percentage saved.
Output Formats
- JPEG — Best for photos. Quality slider has the most impact here.
- PNG — Lossless format. The quality slider has no effect; file size depends on image complexity.
- WebP — Modern format with excellent compression for both photos and graphics.
