Lower Third Creator

What Is a Lower Third?

A lower third is a graphic overlay placed in the lower portion of the screen to display the speaker's name, title, or social media handles. It's a staple of professional broadcasting, live streaming, video production, and conference talks.

Compatible Streaming Software

The 1920×1080 transparent PNG format works with every major streaming platform:

• OBS Studio & Streamlabs — Add as an Image source, position at the bottom of your scene.
• StreamYard — Upload via the Overlays panel. Supports PNG up to 10 MB.
• Restream Studio — Add through the Graphics/Overlays panel.
• Ecamm Live — Drag and drop as an image overlay (macOS).
• vMix — Add to any of the 4 overlay channels. Supports up to 4K.
• Prism Live — Add via the image widget.

The transparent background means the overlay sits cleanly on any scene without blocking your content. Create multiple lower thirds for different scenes (gaming, just chatting, BRB) and switch between them.

Design Tips

• Contrast is key — Make sure your text is readable against the background. Light text on dark backgrounds or dark text on light backgrounds.
• Keep it compact — Lower thirds should be informative but not distracting. 140–180px height works well for most streams.
• Match your brand — Use your channel's colors consistently. The accent bar is a great way to add brand color without overwhelming the design.
• Test at stream resolution — Preview at 1920×1080 to make sure text is readable at the viewer's screen size.

Presets

• Clean — White background, dark text, blue accent. Professional and versatile.
• Gaming — Dark gradient background, neon text, magenta accent. Bold and energetic.
• Corporate — Navy background, white text, gold accent. Polished and formal.
• Neon — Near-black transparent background, cyan/pink text. Cyberpunk aesthetic.
• Minimal — Semi-transparent dark background, white text, no accent. Unobtrusive.
