About This Tool
The Fantasy Character Customizer lets you edit and refine RPG characters for D&D 5e and other tabletop games. It works hand-in-hand with the NPC Generator.
- Load .rpgcharacter files — open characters saved from the NPC Generator or click "Open in Editor" to arrive here directly
- Edit every field — name, race, class, level, AC, personality, appearance, motivation
- Portrait prompt — generate an AI art prompt with race-specific visual descriptors
- Save your changes — download as .rpgcharacter to keep, share, or load into the Initiative Tracker
- Export — copy as plain text or markdown
- Start from scratch — create a character entirely by hand
